President John Dramani Mahama is set to begin a two-day “Resetting Ghana Tour” of the Savannah Region on Friday, May 22, as part of efforts to monitor development projects and interact with residents on the ground.
His first stop will be Sawla, where he will officially launch the National BSTEM programme for basic schools. He is also expected to inspect ongoing construction works on the Sawla–Wa highway and the Bole–Tinga road rehabilitation project, both under the government’s Big Push initiative.
On the first day of the tour, President Mahama will also cut the sod for the Bole District 24-hour Economy model market. He will further visit projects at the Bole College of Education and commission the Mahama ICT Centre in Damongo, the Savannah Regional capital, along with other education infrastructure.
He is also scheduled to pay courtesy calls on traditional authorities, including the Yagbonwura.
On Saturday, May 23, 2026, the President will be joined by key sector ministers responsible for Roads and Highways, Education, and Youth Development and Empowerment, alongside other senior government officials.
He is expected to hold an open forum with residents to present updates on government programmes, outline achievements, and listen to public concerns and feedback.
The tour will conclude with an inspection of the proposed Savannah Regional Hospital site before his departure from the region.
