Gabon President to visit Ghana for three-day State visit
Gabon’s President, Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguema, is scheduled to undertake a three-day official visit to Ghana from July 28 to 30 at the invitation of President John Dramani Mahama.
In a statement, the Presidency said President Oligui Nguema will be accompanied by a high-powered delegation made up of ministers, senior government officials and members of Gabon’s business community.
The visit is expected to further strengthen the longstanding diplomatic and economic ties between Ghana and Gabon.
During the visit, President Mahama and his Gabonese counterpart will first hold a private meeting before engaging in formal bilateral discussions at the Jubilee House in Accra on July 28.
The talks will focus on assessing the current state of relations between the two countries and identifying new opportunities for cooperation beyond their existing partnerships.
Key areas expected to feature in the discussions include political and diplomatic relations, trade and investment, mining, energy, agriculture, forestry, fisheries, maritime affairs, transport, tourism, education, healthcare, defence and security, environmental protection, climate action, and people-to-people exchanges.
According to the Presidency, both leaders will reaffirm their commitment to deepening bilateral cooperation and advancing sustainable economic growth for the benefit of the citizens of Ghana and Gabon.
The statement described the visit as another significant step in the expanding partnership between the two countries.
