Several injured after vehicle ploughs into Berlin pride crowd

Several people have been injured after a vehicle reportedly drove into a crowd attending Berlin’s annual Pride celebrations, according to police.

Authorities said the incident occurred near Tiergarten park in the city centre, where emergency responders are currently treating the injured.

Police have launched a major manhunt for the driver and have urged the public to stay away from the area while investigations continue.

As a result of the incident, the annual Christopher Street Day Pride event has been cancelled.

In a statement posted on social media, police said they believe a vehicle entered Tiergarten park and struck multiple people, causing several injuries.

Images from the scene showed a heavy emergency services presence, with at least one injured person being taken away on a stretcher.

Earlier in the day, thousands of people had participated in the Pride parade, which ended near the park where evening celebrations were scheduled to take place.

Police said investigations are ongoing and more information will be released as it becomes available.
