Kasoa: Young woman found hanging from Mango Tree

A young woman believed to be in her 20s has been found dead, hanging from a mango tree at Kasoa Akweley Peace Town on Sunday morning, October 4, 2026.

Residents discovered the woman’s body hanging from the tree in the community. She was reportedly wearing only a red T-shirt, with no shorts or trousers on at the time she was found.

Some residents claim they heard screams in the area around midnight but did not initially attach significance to the sounds.

There are also reports that the deceased may have been among a group of people who had travelled to the community to attend a one-week celebration.

Residents have raised suspicions that the woman could have been sexually assaulted before her body was allegedly placed on the tree in an attempt to make the incident appear to be a suicide.

However, these claims have not been confirmed by the police.

The police have conveyed the body to the mortuary as investigations continue to determine the circumstances surrounding her death and establish the exact cause.
