A Kia Rhino truck carrying refrigerators, generators, gas burners and chairs has been destroyed by fire at Amanfrom on the Apedwa-Kibi road, resulting in an estimated loss of GH¢800,000.
The incident occurred in the early hours of Thursday, October 8, according to the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS).
In a Facebook post, the Service said the Kibi Fire Station received a distress call at 3:14 a.m. and immediately dispatched a firefighting team led by ADO II Michael Kwakye.
The crew arrived at the scene at 3:32 a.m. and found the truck, with registration number GE 4273-26, completely engulfed in flames.

Firefighters used two hose lines with foam to contain the blaze, bringing it under control at 4:00 a.m. before fully extinguishing it at 4:28 a.m.
According to the driver, he and two other occupants were travelling from Tema to Kumasi when they stopped to rest and fell asleep. They were awakened by passers-by who alerted them to the fire, prompting them to escape through the windscreen.
No casualties were reported in the incident.

The cause of the fire is yet to be established, as investigations continue. The financial loss from the destruction of the truck and its cargo is estimated at GH¢800,000.
