Ebi Bright, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) parliamentary candidate for Tema Central, has expressed satisfaction with the Supreme Court’s decision to annul the re-collated election results for Okaikwei Central, Tema Central, and two other constituencies.
In an interview, she stated, “We are happy that our confidence in the law has borne its fruit, and we are happy to go and continue.”
The Supreme Court’s ruling challenges the Electoral Commission’s (EC) earlier re-collation and subsequent declarations, which had overturned initial victories for NDC candidates in the affected constituencies.
Ebi Bright emphasized that this experience has strengthened their resolve to represent their constituents effectively, stating, “I think that this experience equips us to be able to represent a lot better… this is just the beginning of our work.”
She also extended festive greetings, saying, “We are very grateful for the opportunity, and also, we want to say to Ghanaians and our constituency, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.”
The Supreme Court’s decision underscores the importance of due process and transparency in electoral proceedings, reinforcing public confidence in the judicial system’s role in upholding democratic principles.
