Malik Basintale has officially assumed the role of Acting Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Youth Employment Agency (YEA), following the resignation of Kofi Baah Agyepong. His appointment, which took effect on January 27, 2025, has sparked excitement among youth groups and stakeholders who are eager to see his leadership shape the future of the agency.
Upon his arrival at the YEA office, Basintale was greeted by an enthusiastic crowd of supporters, including bikers and well-wishers, who cheered him on as he began his tenure. This warm reception highlighted the strong backing he enjoys within the community.
In a smooth transition of leadership, Kofi Baah Agyepong, the outgoing CEO, introduced Basintale to the staff and officially handed over the responsibilities of the agency. The exchange was a moment of unity and hope for the future of YEA.
Speaking about his new role, Basintale outlined his primary goal: to deliver jobs to the unemployed youth of Ghana. “My mandate is to deliver jobs to the youth, and I am determined to fulfill that promise,” he said in a statement. He expressed his commitment to expanding opportunities for young people and ensuring they have the necessary skills and resources to succeed.
Basintale also took a moment to thank President John Dramani Mahama for entrusting him with the responsibility, assuring him that his leadership would focus on fulfilling the agency’s mandate. “Thank you, Mr. President, H.E John D. Mahama. We shall not fail you,” he shared on his social media platforms.
