President John Dramani Mahama has sworn into office members of the Constitutional Review Committee.
The swearing-in ceremony was held at the Jubilee House on Thursday, January 30.
The committee chaired by the Executive Director of the Ghana Center for Democratic Development (CDD- Ghana) Professor H Kwasi Prempeh, is expected to complete its work within six months starting today Thursday, January 30, 2025.
The committee is responsible for identifying gaps and challenges in previous constitutional review and their implementation. The committee will engage stakeholders to gather diverse perspectives and formulate practical recommendations to strengthen Ghana’s democratic institutions and processes.
President Mahama said that the review is important in ensuring that the constitution remains responsive to the needs of Ghanaians.
“This review is crucial to ensuring that our Constitution remains a living document, responsive to the evolving needs and aspirations of our people”, he said
President Mahama expressed his confidence in the committee and assured them that their work would not be in vain.
“Your work will not be in vain, this will not be an exercise in futility,” he told the members.
The members of the constitutional review team are:

8. Dr. Rainer Akumperigeya – Secretary
