Parliament has approved the nomination of Dr. Edward Omane Boamah as the Minister-Designate for Defence. This comes after the House debated and adopted the ninth report of the Appointments Committee.
The Appointments Committee unanimously approved Dr. Omane Boamah as the Minister Designate for Defence, although the Minority Leader, Alexander Afenyo-Markin raised concerns over alleged omissions of key submissions by the Clerk of the Vetting Committee.
The Speaker, Alban Bagbin, however, condemned the attack on the clerk of the committee, urging the use of appropriate channels in addressing such concerns.
Parliament on Wednesday, January 29, 2025, approved the nomination of Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah as Minister-designate for Lands and Natural Resources, along with three regional ministers-designate, following deliberations on their appointments.
Approved nominees can officially assume their respective roles and spearhead the activities of their various ministries.
The newly approved regional ministers-designate include Tia Ibrahim (North East Region), Dr. Frank Amoakohene (Ashanti Region) and Akamugri Atanga Donatus (Upper East Region)
