Residents of Adidaase near Manso Amenfi in the Wassa Amenfi District of the Western Region have been thrown into shock after a 31-year-old farmer, Abdul Salam, confessed to murdering his six-year-old son for money rituals.
The boy was earlier reported missing, leading to a community-wide search. However, hopes turned to horror when Salam was questioned by police and admitted to killing his son. He revealed that he severed the child’s head and legs and concealed them in a bush.
According to the Asankragua Police, the suspect confessed that he intended to sell the body parts for ritual purposes. Investigators say he later led officers to the site where he had hidden the remains.
The disturbing incident has left residents devastated, with many struggling to understand how a father could sacrifice his own child in pursuit of wealth.
Police say Abdul Salam is currently in custody and will be arraigned before court as investigations continue.
