The family of late highlife legend Dada KD has announced a new date for his final funeral rites, marking yet another adjustment after previous postponements.
Originally scheduled for August 16, and later moved to September 6–7, the ceremony will now be held on September 20, 2025, at the State House in Accra, with state support. Following the service, Dada KD will be laid to rest in his hometown, Agona-Asamang.
Family representatives explained that the rescheduling was due to the funeral ban imposed by Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, stressing that the change was necessary to respect traditional directives. They also appealed for patience and continued support from Ghanaians and fans worldwide.
Dada KD, celebrated for his timeless contribution to highlife music, passed away on May 16, 2025, after a brief illness. His death was met with deep sorrow across the music fraternity and among admirers of his work.
