A matron at Ghanata Senior High School, Lamisi Sarah, has been arrested for allegedly diverting food supplies meant for students.
Reports indicate that the suspect had been siphoning portions of food items intended to support student welfare.
The matter was brought to the attention of the Greater Accra Regional Minister and MP for Shai-Osudoku, Hon. Linda Obenewa Akweley Ocloo, who alerted the constituency’s national security apparatus for investigation.
Following days of monitoring, a joint operation by national security and the Ghana Police Service led to her arrest on February 20, 2026, while she was allegedly attempting to transport some food items off campus. She was taken into custody in Dodowa for further investigations.
However, reports that she was later granted bail under unclear circumstances have sparked public concern, with residents calling for transparency and stricter oversight of food supplies meant for students.
