“We want to make a statement” – Semenyo on Austria friendly
Black Stars forward Antoine Semenyo says Ghana’s upcoming friendly against Austria is more than just a warm-up, it is a chance for the team to signal their intent ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The Bournemouth striker, who has become a regular feature in Ghana’s attacking lineup, believes the March international break offers the perfect stage to demonstrate readiness for the global tournament.
“Hopefully, [I’m] expecting a win. We want to make a statement: we are preparing for the World Cup, so hopefully a win,” Semenyo said, stressing the importance of the Austria fixture.
