The Ministry of Health (MoH) has announced the opening of applications for qualified Ghanaian doctors, nurses and midwives to work in Jamaica under a bilateral agreement between Ghana and Jamaica.
The recruitment process, which started on June 1, 2026, is scheduled to close on June 5, 2026.
In a statement, the Ministry indicated that the programme provides healthcare professionals with the opportunity to secure employment in Jamaica.
It noted that specialist nursing roles available include neonatology, oncology, critical care, nephrology, emergency nursing and peri-operative nursing. Registered nurses and registered midwives are also eligible to apply.
At the medical level, applications are invited from fellowship-trained specialists in areas such as general surgery, internal medicine, anaesthesiology, pathology, nephrology and cardiology.
According to the Ministry, applicants must meet the licensing and regulatory requirements of both the Medical and Dental Council and the Nursing and Midwifery Council, and must have at least two years of post-basic work experience.
Applicants are required to submit a range of documents, including original academic certificates and two certified copies, certificates of good standing from relevant professional bodies, current and previous appointment letters, and a police criminal record certificate issued by the Criminal Investigation Department of the Ghana Police Service covering the last six months.
Other required documents include an immunisation certificate, birth certificate, certificate of name change (where applicable), two copies of a recent CV, two reference letters issued within the past six months, a passport-size photograph with a white background, and a valid passport with at least two years’ validity.
Candidates must also complete the official application form provided by the Ministry.
The MoH further stated that all certified documents and academic qualifications must be presented physically during the interview stage. It added that incomplete or unsuitable applications will not be considered.
Interested applicants are advised to submit their applications through the Ministry’s official recruitment portal before the June 5, 2026 deadline.
