A massive fire outbreak has ravaged parts of Makola Market in Accra, destroying several shops and goods estimated to be worth thousands of cedis.
The fire started on Wednesday and rapidly spread through sections of the bustling market, producing thick smoke and forcing traders and customers to evacuate the area for safety.
Goods, merchandise, and other valuables belonging to shop owners were destroyed in the blaze, although the total cost of the damage has not yet been established.
Firefighters from the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) are currently at the scene working to contain the fire and stop it from extending to nearby shops and buildings.
