Heavy rains on Wednesday left several parts of Accra flooded, disrupting transportation, commercial activities, and normal life in many communities.
Areas affected by the flooding included Circle, Kaneshie, Pantang, Ashaley Botwe Lakeside, Ashaiman, Sakumono, Kanewu, Adjei Kojo, parts of the Agbogba–Ashongman Road, and other surrounding communities.

At the Kaneshie Market, floodwaters inundated sections of the market, damaging goods and causing significant losses for traders.
The Ghana Meteorological Agency (GMet) has projected varying weather conditions across the country between June 3 and June 5, 2026, with thunderstorms, rainfall, misty conditions, and periods of sunshine expected in different parts of Ghana.

Although the agency described the overall weather risk as low, it urged the public to stay cautious, especially during the morning and evening periods when localised disturbances may occur.
Meanwhile, the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) has issued a safety warning in response to the heavy rains, advising residents in flood-prone communities to take steps to protect themselves from possible flash floods.

The GNFS stated that emergency response systems have been activated and encouraged the public to contact emergency services when needed. Residents were reminded to use emergency line 112, as well as Fire Management Centre numbers 0302 772 446 and 0299 340 383, among other emergency contacts.
