Ghanaian rapper Sarkodie says another feud with fellow artiste Shatta Wale remains possible despite their renewed friendship.
Speaking in a recent interview with Adesope Olajide, Sarkodie said while they are currently on good terms, disagreements could arise again in the future.
“Personally, to me I think we have a beautiful time now and let’s hold on to it. Beef, to me I will not say scratch it. Beef is very necessary,” he said.
According to Sarkodie, he recently told Shatta Wale that although their relationship is positive at the moment, misunderstandings could still occur.
“We are cool now but I am pretty sure that the next two or three months something will happen. So it’s not going to stop,” he stated.
He added that if disagreements emerge, both artistes should be able to express their views openly.
Sarkodie and Shatta Wale have shared one of Ghana’s most notable music rivalries over the years, despite collaborating on songs and occasionally showing mutual respect.
Their relationship became strained after a series of public criticisms and social media exchanges involving Shatta Wale. The tension led Sarkodie to release the diss track Advice in 2018, which many fans viewed as a strong response to the dancehall star.
Reflecting on the song, Sarkodie said certain actions by Shatta Wale at the time affected his focus and influenced his decision to release the track. He noted that while they were expected to shoot a video for their collaboration Megye Wo Girl, Shatta Wale’s attention appeared to be elsewhere.
In recent months, however, the two artistes have publicly shown support for each other, signalling a renewed and more positive relationship.
