A serious road accident on the Kasoa–Winneba stretch has resulted in the death of one person and left eight others receiving treatment after two vehicles collided near Tipper Junction.
The crash, which involved a water tanker and a Toyota Voxy, occurred on Saturday and triggered an emergency response from personnel of the Ghana National Fire Service.
Rescue officers from the Buduburam Fire Station arrived at the scene to assist victims who had been trapped in the wreckage. After an intensive rescue operation, eight injured passengers were pulled from the damaged vehicles and rushed to the Mother and Child Hospital in Kasoa for medical attention.

Health officials later confirmed that one of the victims succumbed to injuries sustained in the collision.
Images from the scene showed significant destruction to both vehicles, with the Toyota Voxy bearing the brunt of the impact. The water tanker also suffered substantial structural damage.
Authorities have yet to release the identities of those involved, while investigations are expected to determine what caused the collision.
The latest incident adds to growing concerns over road safety on major highways, where head-on crashes continue to account for a significant number of fatalities and injuries each year.
