Northern Region: 27-year-old man arrested over provocative TikTok video
The Northern Regional Police Command has arrested 27-year-old Abdulai Mohammed Saani over a provocative TikTok video related to the death of the late Mion Lana, Mahamaru Abdulai.
Following the circulation of the video, the Regional Police Intelligence Department (PID), working with the Regional Criminal Investigations Department (CID), launched intelligence-led investigations to identify the individual behind its creation and distribution.
The suspect was traced to Kumbungu and arrested on August 20, 2026. He was subsequently taken to the Northern Regional Police Headquarters in Tamale to assist with ongoing investigations.
Police are currently working to determine the circumstances surrounding the production and circulation of the video and to establish whether other individuals were involved.
The investigation remains ongoing.
