Former Arsenal midfielder Thomas Partey has completed a medical in Saudi Arabia as he moves closer to joining Saudi Pro League club Al Shabab.
The Ghanaian international is expected to sign a one-year deal with the Riyadh-based side as a free agent.
Partey underwent medical tests at a hospital in Riyadh shortly after arriving in the country, with the remaining paperwork and formalities now being completed ahead of the transfer.
The 33-year-old is set to embark on a new chapter following his departure from Villarreal.
Partey began his European career with Atletico Madrid before joining Arsenal, where he spent several seasons and established himself as a key figure in the midfield.
After leaving the Premier League club, he returned to Spain to continue his career with Villarreal.
The midfielder was also part of Ghana’s squad at the World Cup, where the Black Stars advanced to the knockout stage for the first time since 2010.
