Ghana Water Limited (GWL) has restored water supply to several communities in western Accra after completing repairs on a damaged 500mm main pipeline.
The pipeline was damaged during excavation works carried out by AWERCO Construction Limited, leading to a temporary interruption in water supply to communities served by the line.
In a statement issued on Saturday, August 29, GWL said its engineers and technical teams worked around the clock to fix the affected section and resume normal distribution.
Water supply has now been restored to Mallam, Darkuman, Kaneshie, Mataheko, Korle Bu, Mamprobi, Dansoman Township, Chorkor and surrounding areas.
However, the company cautioned that some customers could initially experience low water pressure or intermittent flow as the system gradually returns to normal operating levels.
GWL appealed to customers to remain patient while water pressure stabilises across the network.
The company also expressed appreciation to customers and other stakeholders for their patience, cooperation and support during the disruption.
Customers who continue to experience difficulties with their water supply have been encouraged to report the issue through GWL’s official communication channels.
