Thirteen people have died in a road crash involving a Ford Transit and a Toyota Hiace on the Sege Highway along the Ada road.
The accident occurred on Wednesday, September 2, as the two vehicles were travelling from the Sege Highway towards Ada.
Personnel from the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) Sege Fire Station responded to the incident and rescued victims at the scene.
According to a report by Assistant Divisional Officer Isaac Kojo Opoku of the GNFS Public Relations Department, a total of 18 people were involved in the accident.
Thirteen of them died, while the remaining five sustained critical injuries.
The injured victims were transported to the Sege Polyclinic, where they are receiving medical treatment.
The GNFS expressed condolences to the families of those who lost their lives and wished the injured victims a speedy recovery.
The cause of the accident and the identities of the deceased have not yet been disclosed. Investigations are ongoing to establish the circumstances surrounding the crash.
