Police Officer loses limb amid renewed violence in Gomoa Efutu land dispute
A police officer has reportedly lost a limb after sustaining severe injuries during renewed clashes over the long-running Gomoa–Efutu land dispute.
The incident comes a day after a violent confrontation on September 1 reportedly left three people dead and several others injured, heightening tensions in the affected communities.
Following the violence, the Inspector-General of Police is said to have deployed additional personnel to the area to restore order and prevent further clashes.
However, reports on September 2 indicate that tensions remain high despite the increased security presence.
According to Nana Yaw Asare, an on-site reporter for Onua Maakye, a police officer was seriously injured during the latest disturbances and subsequently underwent an amputation.
The reported injury has renewed concerns about the escalating conflict and its impact on both residents and security personnel operating in the area.
Residents and peace advocates are calling for urgent intervention to contain the situation and prevent further casualties.
