Manchester City striker Erling Haaland has praised Ghana international Antoine Semenyo, describing his teammate as the “perfect Premier League player” following their growing partnership at the Etihad Stadium.
Haaland said Semenyo possesses the physicality and all-round qualities needed to succeed in English football, adding jokingly that the Ghanaian is “a bit like me.” The Norwegian described Semenyo as “physical” and “the whole, total package.”
The praise came after Semenyo provided the cross for Haaland’s decisive header in Manchester City’s 1–0 Premier League win over Coventry City. Semenyo broke into space on the right before delivering a precise ball to the back post, where Haaland scored his 300th club career goal.
Semenyo joined City from Bournemouth during the second half of the 2025–26 season and has quickly developed an understanding with Haaland. His assist against Coventry highlighted his direct running, strength and ability to create chances from wide areas.
