Ghana midfielder Thomas Partey will be unavailable for Al-Shabab’s next two league matches as he continues a tailored fitness programme aimed at restoring him to full condition.
The Saudi club has placed the 33-year-old on a specialised training schedule under the supervision of its fitness department, ruling him out of upcoming games against Al-Kholood and Al-Fayha.
Partey’s temporary absence is likely to attract attention in Ghana, with the Black Stars preparing for crucial 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying fixtures later this month.
Ghana will take on Côte d’Ivoire on September 24 before facing The Gambia on September 27, with head coach Carlos Queiroz expected to name his squad in the coming days.
While Al-Shabab continue to manage his workload, the fitness programme is expected to help Partey build match readiness ahead of the international assignments and the rest of the club season.
