The Madina Divisional Police Command has arrested two men in connection with an alleged plot to assassinate a woman who works as a Susu collector at the Botwe Taxi Rank.
The suspects have been identified as Abubakar Altine and Eric Tettey Adejetey, according to a statement signed by the Accra Regional Head of Public Affairs, Chief Superintendent Juliana Obeng.
The Ghana Police Service said the two were arrested on September 4, 2026, after officers acting on intelligence mounted an ambush at Botwe Old Town.
According to the Police, the suspects were apprehended while allegedly preparing to carry out the planned attack.
Preliminary investigations suggest that Altine owed the complainant, Esther Dankwa, money and allegedly became involved in the plot after she repeatedly demanded repayment.
Police say Altine subsequently conspired with Adejetey to arrange the woman’s assassination.
The suspects were brought before the Adenta Magistrate Court on September 7, 2026. Their pleas were not taken, and the court remanded them into Police custody.
They are scheduled to appear before the court again on September 22, 2026.
The Police said investigations are continuing and that further information will be provided as the case progresses.
