A 33-year-old man, Enoch Abrokwa, has died in hospital five days after he was allegedly stabbed by his 19-year-old girlfriend during a disagreement at Ofankor Barrier in Accra.
The incident occurred on October 9, 2026, at Abrokwa’s business premises, according to the Accra Regional Police Command.
Police investigations indicate that a misunderstanding between the couple escalated, resulting in the alleged stabbing with a piece of broken glass.
Abrokwa was first taken to a hospital at Taifa-Burkina before being transferred to Ridge Hospital for surgery. He later died on October 14 while receiving treatment.
The suspect, Emmanuella Asante, was arrested on October 10 after the complainant and three other people brought her to the police. She reportedly admitted to the stabbing and has since been remanded into police custody.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, October 21, the police said Asante had appeared in court and was expected to reappear on November 3, 2026.
The command has urged the public to resolve disputes peacefully and cooperate with investigators as the case proceeds through the legal process.
