Story: Kobby Rockson
Son of late former President of Ghana, Professor John Evans Atta Mills has advised former Director of Communication under his father’s government, Koku Anyidoho, to stop mischievous activities that only serve to create confusion.
He said, those who claim that his dad was their mentor should adopt the calm and genial disposition of his dad, and not engage in activities that drag his father’s name into unnecessary confusion.
Speaking to Captain Smart on Onua TV, Kofi Sam Atta Mills said it’s been “jarring” having to endure all the controversy between Koku and the family, and urged the former Director of Communication at the Presidency to check his actions.
He said although he had wanted to steer off the issue, he had been really appalled by the confusion stirred by Koku at activities marking the 2024 anniversary of the death of the former president.
He added that what really broke the camel’s back was what happened at the anniversary, when despite the presence of his aunties and uncles who are direct sibling of his dad. Koku decided to bus other people and claimed that they were the relatives of his late dad.
“When you start becoming mischievous and go against the good deed of the man then you have to take the name Atta Mills off anything you do,” he stated. “I think it is extremely disrespectful and you are being mischievous,” he added.
He expressed surprise that Koku was today siding with people who abused his dad when he was president, and questioned his principles and credibility.
“It shows that you don’t have principles because it tarnishes your reputation as a person…there are zero principles and that is why I decided to stay out of it,” he stated.
“The Atta Mills family is naturally accommodating but when you come and pretend to have good intentions and start abusing it then it becomes a problem. We should not wash our dirty clothes in public…that’s is my personal opinion…I have a family head and they are dealing with it,” he said.
