Ebi Bright of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has lost the Tema Central parliamentary seat to Charles Forson of the New Patriotic Party (NPP). The final tally showed Forson securing 18,870 votes, narrowly surpassing Bright’s 18,815 votes—a margin of just 55 votes.
This outcome followed a High Court directive, which ordered the Electoral Commission (EC) to collate results from two outstanding polling stations in the constituency. The court found that the initial omission of these results was a breach of the EC’s obligations.
The re-collation process, conducted under the supervision of the EC, confirmed Forson’s victory. Out of 38,038 total votes cast, 144 ballots were rejected, leaving 37,894 valid votes. An independent candidate, Frederick Aniagyei, received 209 votes.
