The National Organizer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Joseph Yamin, has issued a fiery warning that he may expose explosive secrets about the party and the John Mahama-led administration concerning illegal mining, popularly known as galamsey.
In a cryptic but strongly worded Facebook post on Wednesday morning, Mr. Yamin drew parallels from a childhood experience involving a soldier’s cat, suggesting that those pointing fingers at him should tread cautiously, or risk sparking revelations that could send political shockwaves.
His outburst follows a directive from the Attorney-General to the Economic and Organized Crime Office (EOCO) to investigate claims by the Small Scale Miners Association. The Association had accused Mr. Yamin and others leading members of the NDC of forming unauthorized task forces that terrorize miners across various regions under the guise of enforcing mining regulations.
Yamin, in his post, alluded to a famous phrase once uttered by a soldier during his youth: “Tomorrow, everybody go hear of it.” The NDC executive repurposed the quote to fire a warning shot: “Tomorrow, everyone will hear of us.”
While he stopped short of naming names or detailing the alleged wrongdoing, his message implied he possesses information that could implicate key figures within the NDC and the government in illegal mining activities.
The cryptic but loaded message has sparked speculation within political circles, with some observers interpreting it as an internal rift within the party or a preemptive defense strategy against the looming EOCO probe.
Political analysts say the implications of such an exposé, if carried through, could be far-reaching for the NDC.
As the nation sits on tenterhooks awaiting clarity on Yamin’s veiled threats, one thing is clear: the sleeping lion may be stirring—and the roar could be deafening.
