Ghanaian actress and media personality Efia Odo has publicly addressed rumors claiming she is the biological daughter of the late highlife legend, Daddy Lumba (Charles Kwadwo Fosu), following his recent passing.
In a video shared on Instagram, Efia Odo firmly denied the speculation, explaining that her earlier reference to Daddy Lumba as “dad” was purely symbolic and not meant to imply a biological relationship.
“So I was gonna totally ignore this, but it’s becoming too much. No, I am not Daddy Lumba’s biological daughter. Actually, Daddy Lumba is everybody’s daddy,” she clarified.
The rumors were reignited after Moira Araba Dawson-Williams, mother of a child with politician Kennedy Agyapong, accused Daddy Lumba of neglecting Efia Odo. Moira referenced an old clip from Efia’s time on Questa TV, where she jokingly referred to the late musician as her father.
Clearing the air, Efia explained, “Somebody made a rumour from a video that I did when I was working on Questa TV, saying that Daddy Lumba is my dad. But then I said, I’m just joking. That clout chaser took my video and clipped it to fit his agenda.”
She concluded by describing Daddy Lumba as a father figure to the nation, saying he “nurtured everyone in a way” through his music and legacy.
