The National Teaching Council (NTC) has refuted claims circulating on social media that it has increased the registration fee for the Ghana Teacher Licensure Examination (GTLE).
According to the Council, the total fee remains GH¢500, made up of GH¢450 for registration and GH¢50 for indexing. It noted that the amount has remained unchanged since 2023.
The clarification follows social media reports suggesting that prospective GTLE candidates would now be required to pay a higher amount to register for the examination.
In a disclaimer issued by its Public Affairs Unit, the NTC said it had taken notice of the false reports regarding an alleged increase in the examination fee.
“NTC wishes to state that the GTLE fee remains GH¢500 (GH¢450 for Registration and GH¢50 for Indexing), same as it has been since 2023,” the Council stated.
It stressed that “there has been no increment” in the fee.
The NTC has therefore urged the public to disregard any reports claiming that the GTLE registration fee has been increased and rely on official communication from the Council for accurate information.
