A deadly chieftaincy clash at Agona Abodom in the Agona West Municipality of the Central Region has claimed four lives and left ten others critically injured.
According to information available to adom news, the violence erupted during the town’s Akwanbo Festival when suspected landguards allegedly hired by a rival claimant to the stool clashed with residents.
The confrontation led to the destruction of two vehicles and significant damage to property, including furniture and fixtures at the chief’s palace.

In an interview with Adom News, eyewitness Kwame Arhin confirmed that three people were initially killed during the clash, with a fourth body discovered later.
Gomoa Abodom, a farming community, has struggled with chieftaincy disputes for over 45 years. A new chief was installed earlier this year in an attempt to restore peace.
Assemblyman for the area, Alex Donkor, described the situation as alarming and called for heightened security. Residents are now living in fear and have appealed to authorities for protection to prevent further violence.
