Ghanaian dancehall star Shatta Wale has stirred conversation once again after revealing that he sold his hit song ‘On God’ for a staggering $3.5 million.
The revelation comes in the heat of his ongoing feud with record producer M.O.G Beatz, who recently accused Shatta Wale of being ungrateful. In response, the Gringo hitmaker took to an X (formerly Twitter) Space to set the record straight while throwing jabs at the producer.
“MOG Beatz is a hungry, ungrateful JON. He begged me to use his beats. As a smart person, you should have contacted me when the people I sold my $20m catalogue to wrote you a letter. I sold On God for $3.5M. We can go to Volta and put our hands in a pot. He even helped me clear all this ‘Shatta is a fraud boy’ claim,” Shatta Wale stated.
The claim adds another twist to the back-and-forth exchanges between the award-winning musician and the producer, who have clashed multiple times over recognition, royalties, and credit in past collaborations.
Shatta Wale, known for his outspoken personality and string of hit songs, has built a reputation for mixing music with controversy. His latest revelation about the sale of On God has fueled fresh debate among fans and industry stakeholders about the value of his catalogue and the nature of his rift with M.O.G Beatz.
