Alois Mohl enters NPP Nandom race

Former Deputy CEO of the Social Investment Fund, Alois K. K. Mohl, has formally stepped into the New Patriotic Party (NPP) parliamentary primary in Nandom, positioning himself as a candidate of reconciliation and grassroots empowerment.

Speaking at Chalice Hall before party executives, traditional leaders, and delegates, Mohl argued that factionalism had cost the NPP its hold on the constituency. “If NPP Nandom wants to win back this seat, the party must first unite,” he said, framing his candidacy as a bridge between divided camps.

He reminded delegates of his own sacrifices, noting that he had endured “humiliation and disgrace for no crimes committed” yet remained loyal to the party.

Rejecting money‑driven politics, Mohl emphasized social capital as the foundation of his campaign. “My wealth is not paper money or hard currency wealth. My wealth is social capital,” he told delegates, pledging empowerment over handouts.

His policy agenda rests on four pillars, education, health, agriculture, and social welfare. Among his proposals is a welfare package for polling station and constituency executives, including hospital support and tuition relief. He also promised a Rapid Response Team to resolve disputes at the grassroots before they escalate.

Mohl highlighted his role in facilitating a six‑unit classroom block and an electrical workshop at Nandom Technical Institute during his tenure at SIF, alongside annual festive relief packages for polling station officers since 2019.

Former Nandom SHS headteacher Magnus Innocent Der introduced him as a seasoned mobilizer with ties to national party structures dating back to the early 2000s.

Mohl joins a crowded field of aspirants: Ambrose Dery, former Interior Minister; Martin Delle, CEO of DKM Microfinance; and Sylvester Isaing, a legal practitioner. The primary is expected to be one of the most closely watched contests in the NPP’s internal calendar.
