Tanzania set to face Ghana in September friendly

The Taifa Stars of Tanzania will meet Ghana’s Black Stars in an international friendly during the September FIFA window, adding another fixture to a packed schedule that includes the start of the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers.

Ghana, coached by Carlos Queiroz, will begin their AFCON qualification campaign against Côte d’Ivoire before hosting Gambia. Days later, they are expected to take on Tanzania, who are co‑hosts of the 2027 tournament.

Tanzania, meanwhile, will play Guinea‑Bissau and Madagascar in their qualifiers before lining up against Ghana.

The Tanzanian Football Federation has already unveiled its squad, with BK Hacken forward Sabri Kondo returning and Bernard Kamungo earning a call‑up. Ghana’s squad announcement is expected in the coming weeks, following the Ghana Football Association’s confirmation that Queiroz will continue as head coach after guiding the team to the 2026 World Cup.
